SILKEBORG ADDRESS PLAQUE
10⅝” × 4¾” (27 × 12 cm)
When we conceived our porcelain enamel Silkeborg Lighthouse address plaque, we took our design cues from seaside towns—specifically Skagen, Denmark. Known for its plein air motifs, nineteenth-century painters flocked to Skagen to capture the details of the village’s landscape and distinctive lighting on canvas.
The earthy, rust-colored pigment used for the address plaque’s text and trim is derived from copper. The color, often referred to as ‘Falu red’, after a copper pit in Falu, Sweden, was traditionally used on houses throughout Scandinavia. Against the pure white background of the address plaque, the Falu red color subtly pops.
The Silkeborg Lighthouse address plaque is ideal for low, broad, timber framed structures, such as those found in Cape Cod.
